FindGarageDoorPro operates a referral service that connects homeowners in Birmingham, AL and Denver, CO with independent garage door repair professionals. We are not a contractor and we do not perform repairs.
When you submit a request we collect your first name, phone number, ZIP code, the type of problem you selected, your description of the issue, and optionally your email address. We also record the date and time you submitted, your IP address, your browser user agent, the page you submitted from, the site that referred you, and any advertising parameters in the link you arrived on (for example utm_source or gclid). From your IP address and user agent we also derive the type of device, browser and operating system you used, and an approximate location (country, and where available region, city and postal area). This approximate location is not precise, is not GPS, and is never used to dispatch anyone — the only address we act on is the ZIP code or service address you confirm yourself. If you call the number shown on our pages, that call is placed through a tracking number and we record the calling number and the call details.
If the ZIP code you enter is outside the areas we currently serve, we keep a separate record of the ZIP code, the type of problem, the device and the advertising parameters, so we can see where demand exists and decide where to add providers next. That record deliberately contains no name, phone number, email address or street address — it tells us that someone in an area needed help, not who they were.
When you tap a phone number or a WhatsApp button on this site, we record that a tap happened: which of the two it was, which service area it belonged to, where on the page you tapped it, the type of device, and any advertising parameters in the link you arrived on. This lets us see how many people prefer to make contact rather than fill in the form. That record deliberately contains no name, phone number, email address or IP address, and it does not tell us who made contact or whether any conversation took place — only that the button was tapped.
If you choose to message us on WhatsApp, that conversation takes place inside WhatsApp and is subject to WhatsApp's own terms as well as ours. We will see your WhatsApp display name and the number you message from, because that is how the app works. We use them to answer you, and — if you ask us to find you a provider — to pass your request to one provider in the way described above. We will not add you to a marketing list on the strength of a message you sent us.
We use your name, phone, ZIP and description to confirm we cover your area, to select a provider who serves it, and to pass your request to that provider so they can contact you. We use the technical and advertising data to understand which marketing produces genuine requests, and to detect abuse of the form.
We share your request with one independent service provider — the one matched to your area and problem. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not distribute it to a panel of competing companies. If we ever need to pass your request to a different provider, we will tell you. We also use service vendors to run the site and store the data, including our hosting provider, our database provider, our email provider and our call tracking provider.
Before submitting, you tick a box agreeing to be contacted. The exact wording you agree to is: “By checking this box and clicking "Get My Free Quote," I agree that FindGarageDoorPro and the local service provider matched to my request may contact me at the phone number provided by call, text (SMS), and email — including through automated technology — about my service request. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.”
We store the exact wording shown to you, the version of that wording, the timestamp, your IP address and your browser user agent alongside your request. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any text message, telling the caller not to contact you again, or emailing us at yair@yetech.dev. When you opt out we keep a record of the opt-out itself, which we must retain even if your other data is deleted, so that we do not contact you again by mistake.
Request records and the consent record attached to them are kept for five years. That is not an arbitrary number: the federal law governing consent to be contacted allows claims for four years, and the record of what you agreed to is the only thing that answers such a claim. Deleting it earlier would leave both of us with nothing.
Technical and advertising data is kept for 25 months, which is how long we need it to judge whether a marketing channel produced real requests.
Opt-out records are kept indefinitely, for the reason given above: a suppression list only works if it is never emptied. If you ask us to delete your data we keep the minimum needed to honour the opt-out itself — normally your phone number and nothing else.
You can ask us to delete your request data at any time by emailing yair@yetech.dev. Once we have passed your request to a provider, that provider holds their own copy under their own policy, and you will need to ask them separately.
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and ask us to stop contacting you. Email yair@yetech.dev and say which one you want. We do not charge for this, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you and where it came from, the right to obtain a copy of it, the right to have it corrected, the right to have it deleted, and the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined in that law. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months, including for anyone under 16.
The categories we collect are set out above: identifiers (name, phone, email), geolocation to the level of a ZIP code and service address, internet activity relating to your visit, and the contents of the description and photographs you choose to send us. We collect them from you directly and from your browser, for the purposes described above, and we keep them for the periods described below.
To make a request, email yair@yetech.dev. We will verify it by replying to the email address or phone number already on your request, because that is the only way we can tell it is you. An authorised agent may act for you if they provide your written permission. We aim to confirm receipt within 10 business days and to respond within 45 days, and we will tell you if we need the extension the law allows.
Under the Colorado Privacy Act — and under comparable laws in states including Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and Oregon — you have the right to confirm whether we are processing your personal data, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, to obtain it in a portable form, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do none of those last three.
Make a request by emailing yair@yetech.dev. We will respond within 45 days. If we refuse a request we will tell you why, and you may appeal by replying to that refusal; we will answer the appeal within 45 days and tell you how to contact your state Attorney General if you are still not satisfied.
FindGarageDoorPro is operated from Israel and our vendors process data in the United States and elsewhere. By submitting a request you understand your information will be processed outside your state of residence.
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
